Safe Routes to School funding for Laurel Upper Campus

Dear City Council,

As a Measure W co-chair, I have been involved in and continue to follow
developments around the Laurel School Upper Campus.

It is my understanding that in order for Safe Routes to School to be
assessed, it must first be funded by the City.

It is important that this groundwork be laid now so that routes are
outlined and communicated upon the new school opening, so as to reinforce
the behavior and bike / pedestrian routes that are safest.

Please let me know the process for the City to fund a Safe Route to School
study for Laurel Upper Campus. We've known since last November that this
school would be opening in August 2016 so maybe this study is already
funded and in plan - I hope so!

Best regards,
Tricia Barr
