Community Alerts for Fogging

Dear Mr. McIntyre and Honorable Council Members,

Although I felt amply notified about the recent fogging in Central Menlo
Park, I saw petitions flying around Nextdoor to stop the fogging and people
having missed the notifications. After tonight's meeting, I posted what I
heard about the notifications from the SMC Mosquito District on Nextdoor,
including the two links that were referenced and I signed up myself and
wanted to repot back:

   - https://www.smcalert.info/index.php?CCheck=1 -- This works well but,
as Mayor Pro Tem Carlton pointed out, is fairly invisible on their website.
   - http://menlopark.org/list.aspx -- On the Menlo Park system, "Notify
me', it is virtually impossible to see what to sign up for to get those
specific alerts. Would it be possible to suggest to staff that another
alert category be added? I ended up not signing up because I had no idea
   where this was housed.

For what it's worth, wouldn't flash signs in the affected neighborhoods,
24-48 hours ahead, be effective?
