RE: Santa Cruz Sidewalks

Thank you for the email and support for the project. The limits of this project are from Johnson Street to Olive Street (Hillview School), and this is the first of a few components of the City's sidewalk program. The ultimate goal is to install sidewalks on both sides of Santa Cruz for the extents of the corridor, however this first round of the project may only have funding to install sidewalks on one side of the street to begin with and will only cover the area from Johnson Street to Olive Street (Hillview School).

This project has been under design and review for quite some time now and we have previously held Community wide workshops to receive high level feedback from the City as a whole, we are now focusing our comment period on residents with direct frontage to the proposed improvements. Once this round of feedback is received we will discuss the feedback received during the citywide workshops and the focused property owners outreach with the Bike Commission and the Transportation Commission and ultimately the City Council, during these three meetings members of the public will again have the opportunity to provide comments and or feedback on the project.

Subject: Santa Cruz Sidewalks

To Whom it May Concern,

I'm writing to voice my support for building sidewalks along Santa Cruz Avenue through downtown Menlo Park.
As a family with two boys in Oak Knoll Elementary and Hillview Middle School, we walk and bike Santa Cruz Ave quite often.
Unfortunately, this experience is not pleasant and sometimes dangerous.

Please find a way to create a continuous sidewalk that runs the entire length of Santa Cruz Ave while keeping the bike lanes intact. Doing this will not only make Menlo Park safer but make it more pedestrian friendly as well.
