Pope-Chaucer Bridge Replacement -- "A Modest Proposal"

Dear City Council Members and Creek/Water Authorities, Your proposal of cutting down all the trees is one that all of us should consider with great sincerity.  We should cement over all water ways and beaches.  They are bothersome don't you think?  It is only a modest proposal you have suggested----7 foot walls on a creek bordering cities with the per capita highest educational degrees in the nation!  Surely is a brilliant public pronouncement of our intelligence here!  Bravo!! On a less sarcastic note:  I do agree a new bridge with a wider opening on the creek is a great idea. I do NOT think: 7 foot walls shows a dot of creativity.   Alternatives might be:   Once yearly  bulldozing along the creek basin.  Cutting down the trees that are ready to fall, clearing the branches and debris currently present. Perhaps diverting some of the creek. People purchased their homes in flood zones --- that does not give them the right to decimate the beauty we are so proud of in Nor Cal.   Let's be creative a preserve what we are proud of.  We are dead set against this proposal and happy to chain ourselves to a few oaks if we must in protest.... Sincerely, Don, Diana, Katelyn (9 yrs) and Garrett (13 yrs) Pohlman
