New School Planning

Dear Menlo Park Mayor, council and board members: THANK YOU so much for all your time and your attention to the new school. My children and I are all excited about the brand new school just a minute away from our house. I would like to send you my inputs as I may not be able to attend the meeting. - Regarding the proposed Parking and Drop-off design,  I like the Scheme 2 as it provides the most parking space, and separate staff parking space. The Scheme 1 and Scheme 3 does not provide the enough parking space. It barely covers the number of school staff (and aids).  Would that be a possibility to design some parking space on Oak Court just for the school staff?  It would create more parking space. - The large trucks (UPS and garbage trucks) and school bus are using 3 or 5-point turn on Elliott Drive right now. How they will be able to turn with the proposed parking lot. - Most of the households on Elliott Drive will be backing in and out of the driveway every morning. Will we be able to get in and out of the driveway safely? - The foot traffic on O'Connor is very heavy every morning with children already. Many of their moms are pushing a stroller while walking with their older children. With the increase of bicyclists and the walkers, can we ensure the safety at the corners of Elliott Drive and O'Connor, and O'Connor and Menalto.   - I would like to see less trees removed. My main concern is the safety of our school children. Again, thank you for your time. Yours sincerely, Shu Rosenthal 227 Elliott Drive Menlo Park, Ca 94025 (650)-690-0277
