Dear City Council Members,
I came to learn of a plan under way to build new housing on the site of the Feldman's Bookstore located at 1170 El Camino Real.
While I realize the acute need and demand for housing In Menlo Park and the adjoining communities ,I consider it is vital to preserve the landmark independent bookstore Feldman's . This traditional repository of knowledge has been serving the community of Menlo Park and neighbors for a considerable period. It is indeed a great asset. The service the Bookstore has provided over the years is really commendable and indeed irreplaceable.
I am putting forth the suggestion that space be provided for the Bookstore within the new construction project at the street level and the rest of space / ground and multilevel for the construction of planned apartments . Such an accommodation will be able to meet both the needs indeed.
Thank for your consideration,
Kumar Kangayappan., PH. D
