Not in favor of the proposed moratorium on development

Dear City Council members,

I heard that there is proposal being considered tonight to ban all
commercial development for the next two years. I'm a local resident of the
Willows and I'm strongly not in favor of the proposal. As I understand it,
there are several issues we're dealing with in the city (like traffic) that
are tied to some of the development happening. Stopping all development
due to bad traffic is very shortsighted and painting with a very broad
brush instead of finding nuanced ways to fix the issues. I agree that
traffic has become a big issue-- I see it every day on Willow road. But if
we stop all development we'll drive businesses away, sabotage our tax
revenues and make our sleepy downtown even more so. Let's find a more
intelligent way to fix the specific issues (traffic studies, requiring
traffic mitigation measures like Stanford does, etc) instead of a knee jerk
reaction to stop what is mostly a positive for our community.
