School safety: Sharon Rd/Eastridge T-type intersection -- with attached picture.

From: domainremoved <>
Date: Tue, 5 Mar 2019 17:32:57 +0000 (UTC)

Dear respected council members and transportation department,

In addition to my e-mail (below), I thought it may be helpful to attach a picture of
the typically day-to-day intersection situation.

The high-danger days are the ones in which a large
parking van is parked at the intersection for hours,
spanning the La Entrada school day.

Thank you for helping us with this.

Paul Mitiguy
La Entrada Parent.

 Dear Menlo Park Councilmembers,

I plead you have the entire T-intersection at Sharon Rd. / Eastridge
marked as a no-parking zone (only half the curb is painted red).

This intersection is directly before the cross-walk to La Entrada school and
is obstructed by frequent repair and moving vans for Sharon Park Place.

I have walked my child to school for 4+ years and have observed several
near-accidents of cars or trucks with children, including two reported to the
Menlo Park transportation department (to mkortega_at_(domainremoved)

Please designate this entire intersection as a no-parking zone.
Note: The default, California Vehicle Code 22500 prohibits parking:
"(a) Within an intersection, except adjacent to curbs as may be permitted by local ordinance."
