Speed Bumps

As residents of Baywood Avenue, we want to reiterate our objections to the proposal for putting speed bumps in our neighborhood, particularly the ones proposed for Baywood. We have lived in our home here since 1974. The increase in traffic has affected us as it has our neighbors. However, putting speed bumps (one of which has proposed for being right in front of our home at 118) would compromise the quiet enjoyment of our home.

The worst of the traffic problems have been ameliorated by the recent installation of the “No Through Traffic” sign, and especially the signs limiting cut-through traffic between 3 and 7 p.m.weekdays. We strongly believe that both signs should be made permanent. They have greatly improved the peace and safety of our street, and, in fact, make the installation of speed bumps unnessary.

As you may remember, the majority of residents of our street have signed a petition requesting that Baywood be exempted from the installation of speed bumps, and we strongly support that request.
