More Ev charging

To whom it may concern,

Having just gone through the exercise of installing an EV charger at home,
and having helped/advised 3 friends do the same at their homes, it is a no
brainer to require charging "infrastructure" in new homes.

The incremental cost to enable a charger in new construction is minimal,
while the cost to do the same after construction is significant. Believe it
or not the cost imposed by the required planning department interactions
(direct cost of permit and the time for inspectors to come on site and the
indirect cost of needing the electrician to be available for the inspection)
are significantly MORE than the cost of the charger and the actual labor to

With such a high (leading?) adoption rate of EVs in Menlo Park this makes
sense from a financial perspective and from an environmental perspective as
well. It will also increase the number of people for whom electric cars are
an option (e.g. in new apartment construction).
