Supporting the New Guild Project

Dear Menlo Park City Council -

I am writing to give my support to the plan to renovate the Guild and bring
high-quality live music to the Menlo Park community. My young family and I
have lived in the neighborhood near Holbrook-Palmer Park for the past 3+
years, and I would love to be close to home, support local restaurants, and
enjoy live music from great performers. It's also a great way to gather
with our friends in the neighborhood and strengthen our sense of community
with some "real reality."

I have been a member of SJ Jazz for about 15 years, and I have attended
countless performances in the CIty when I used to live there. It's a trek
to get up to the City, and I really miss the opportunity to listen to
world-class performers in a world-class setting. It's a great way to spend
the evening. I especially would like to take my sons to see live jazz in a
place close to home. I think it would be inspiring for them.

By providing a great performance space, it could book high-quality jazz
artists and speakers. The New Guild would provide a "destination venue"
attracting patrons to the Menlo Park businesses, and it also would be a
place that we could take pride in having in our neighborhood.

Please vote to approve the New Guild project. Thank you,

-Chris Neil, Atherton.
