Santa Monica/Linfield Street Crossing

I live in the Vintage Oaks neighborhood and walk my dog every day through Linfield Oaks, crossing Middlefield at the designated crosswalk near the fire station. Despite the flashing lights to alert cars to a pedestrian in the crosswalk, I have had several near misses as cars attempt to go around the already-stopped cars at high speed. Please include an upgraded crosswalk indicator to avoid a tragedy in the future. It would also help to have more traffic police on Middlefield, not only for the drivers who fail to stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk, but to deal with the speeding and texting I see every day.
Thank you for considering this work in your future plans.
