The Stanford development

You're probably getting a lot of angry emails from a lot of folks from
NextDoor, who're "angry about goals parking", which is thinly disguised
euphemism for "angry about development".

Their backward-looking, angry, reactionary views are obstructionist and do
nothing to ease the massive housing crisis. They are incapable of seeing
anyone who doesn't live in their familiar car-centric lifestyle. They
ignore the fact that transit proximity mitigates the impact of cars.

In short: I hope you ignore 'em. I'm being priced out of Menlo Park due to
housing scarcity after close to eight years. And all this comes too late
for me: after living here for longer than a lot of residents who bought,
flipped, and sold, the development has been obstructed long enough that I
won't benefit from it.
