In support of not using pesticides for weed control

Dear members of City Council,
I strongly support your continuing to avoid use of pesticides in the city parks and am delighted that you are considering expanding the program. While there are "up front" costs of using alternatives, there are also real benefits to the health of park users and neighbors, as well as their dogs. And, of course, beneficial insects, birds, and wildlife benefit from the absence of pesticides.
While no longer a resident of Menlo Park, I am a frequent user of Bedwell Bayfront Park in particular, so have an interest in your decision on this matter.
Thank you very much. Chris MacIntosh
