Bike Boulevards in Menlo Park

Dear Council Members,

I'm a resident of the Willows with grown kids who went to Laurel, Encinal and Hillview schools. I'm mainly a weekend biker, preferring to run errands, go out to dinner, and just generally get around on bike; I occasionally bike to work at Stanford during the week as well.

Being both a bicyclist and a car driver, I appreciate the newer green bike lanes painted on busy streets, for I feel safer as a biker, and have a better sense of what space I should occupy as a car driver.

I strongly support the designated bike boulevard on Oak Grove, in part because I hope it leads the City to consider designated bike boulevards throughout Menlo Park.

All the best,

Susan Austin
