Safe bike routes build community

Dear City Council Members,
My daughter has biked to school in a bike group since 4th grade. She now takes the Oak Grove route every morning and afternoon to Hillview School. We are so proud of her making the right decision to bike... adding exercise to her day, creating good habits around bike safety, and reducing the carbon footprint in Menlo Park. That said, we have noticed the increased use of Oak Grove, and others for short cuts around congestion. We have concerns that with the growing amount of Menlo Park's traffic, traffic violations, and size of our community schools, we need safer routes to/from schools.

Tonite, we need the City Council to do the right thing for our kids...please move forward with the approved Oak Grove Bike Pilot. Our students deserve a safer way to travel across El Camino Real to and from M-A and Hillview. Please back up your claims to value Safe Routes. Now is the time to act.

Cathy and Dave Tokic,
Menlo Park Residents
