Support for Oak Grove bike pilot

City Council Members:

I am writing to express concern that the Oak Grove bike route pilot may be
delayed for "further study." As you are aware, this route has been
identified as a potential east-west corridor that would allow school
children and other Menlo Park residents to safely travel through the City.

As a community member, parent of young children, and former Bicycle
Commission Member, I am disappointed by the City's lack of follow-through
on a number of bike- and pedestrian-safety issues. The Laurel Safe Routes
to School analysis, which was supposed to go out to bid in the fall of
2016, is another example of the Council making a commitment and then
delaying implementation. When the safety of our children is at risk, there
is no excuse for delay.

I ask that you move forward on this pilot as a show of good faith in your
efforts to support Safe Routes for all community members.

Thank you.
