Great, thank you. A follow-up to this:

I've been thinking a lot about cycling safety over the years, and have been
meaning to get in touch with a local city to try and get involved with
designing some new types of bicycle safety measures, and then I saw your
efforts and post online. I've personally spent countless hours bike
touring, and constantly see posts from my circles about cyclists being
involved in accidents, so this issue is very important to me. As a
software & hardware engineer at Facebook, I believe I could make a valuable

If you're interested, I would love to speak with someone in the city about
possible technological steps that could be taken to help add increased
safety for cyclists. One idea I've had in my head for a while is motion
sensing light-up reflectors (similar to existing RRFBs for cross-walks)
placed along street-side cycling paths. They would be fairly quick to
design & build, and relatively cheap as well, resulting in a trail of
lights following cyclists on the side of the road at night, perhaps 5
seconds behind them. There are numerous other ideas that have come out of
the startup community over recent years that are all targeted at
implementing per-bicycle solutions, but I believe flipping the problem on
it's head and implementing some of these ideas at the infrastructural level
can lead to some very positive benefits.

Thank You,
