ECR bike lane

Dear Council,

Given the short time before tomorrow's meeting I will keep this brief. El
Camino Real is a mess at rush hour. This is because Menlo Park forces ECR
to neck down to 2 lanes, from where it had been 3 lanes on either side of
our city. This bottleneck wastes time, and it causes cars to idle and thus
causes pollution.

Adding a bike lane is insane. What we need is a third lane through Menlo
Park. This can be accomplished simply by restriping and by prohibiting
parking on ECR itself. Cost: the price of a few buckets of paint and an
afternoon's labor. That would help traffic, help the environment, and help
the residents of Menlo Park.
