Dear Menlo Park City Council Members,
Thank you for moving forward with the Oak Grove Bicycle Boulevard. This important step creates a much needed safe route to several area schools. I hope that now you will move forward with the planned bicycle route pilot and pedestrian safety upgrades along El Camino Real as quickly as possible. Please support the safest designs available to protect the hundreds of people who walk and bike on El Camino Real every day. More people will choose to bike when there are safer routes, getting more cars off the road. The safe bike lanes will also help our local businesses, making it easier to visit Menlo Park shops and run errands downtown.

Please coordinate with Atherton and Palo Alto to improve bicycle route connectivity and safety, but do so without allowing this important project to be delayed by our neighbors. I ask you to vote to proceed with the El Camino bike lane pilot as quickly as possible, creating a bike-friendly, vibrant downtown that serves everyone.
