Oak Grove-University Bike Boulevard

Menlo Park City Council,
I am writing to beg you to approve and implement the Oak Grove-University Avenue bike boulevard immediately.
I have lived in this great city for 25 years. We have four kids and all of them bike to and from school (Oak Knoll, Hillview and MA) everyday.
We live on Bay Laurel Drive and my kids are forced to bike to MA via the San Mateo bike bridge to cross El Camino on Sand Hill and then meander through Burgess and the parking lots of SRI just to avoid the dangerous car traffic along University, Menlo and Ravenswood avenues. This route takes them much longer to get to school.
The kids that bike to and from school are helping everybody else out by reducing car traffic during the busy commute times. PLEASE provide them a safer bike route.
In addition, we bike to downtown Santa Cruz avenue all the time. My youngest daughter does not feel safe biking on University and she often has to ride on the sidewalk (also not safe or legal). She is old enough to go downtown with friends on her own but I often do not allow it because there is no safe way to ride there legally. It is a shame that we allow cars to park on the streets all day at the expense of a dedicated bike lane than can provide safe passage to hundreds of people all day.
Please approve the Oak Grove-University Ave bike boulevard.
